Worst Place I’ve Ever Worked

Pros

The hybrid model of working and the distance from my home to the office

Cons

Micromanagement is at an all time high. I had to email my manager between 2-3 times a week updating my progress on tasks. Made me feel like I was an intern or an administrative assistant. Multiple meetings stops you from actually getting work done. You get paid monthly and I didn’t find that out until I received my offer letter. Never received positive feedback, the feedback was always directed towards my personality and not the work I was doing. Never got training on my role, was expected to know how to do everything by month 4. My social media pages were getting viewed after I left yet they weren’t looked at when I first started. My mental was definitely affected working there because it felt like I was always doing something wrong. Calling those who work in operations “field workers” should’ve been a red flag.

Pros

Not very difficult to succeed here. Tuition reimbursement program. If you know how to schmooze --you can't lose. As a TWU Local 101 Represented employee, there's a fair amount of job security.

Cons

Nepotism. At least 80% of employees got hired through relatives so you have entire families running departments like little mafias. Good luck trying to climb the corporate ladder next to someone whose uncle is best friends with the interviewer. Management looks the other way with discrimination, sexual harassment, and retaliation. If you don't have a relative in management you WILL be held to a higher standard of performance than someone who is connected.
