Pros

Strong job security and, depending on team, typically reasonable work-life balance. Really nice people, respectful and laid back culture. They will support you. Promotes from within.

Cons

Organization is very stagnant despite frequent re-orgs. Mushroom management. Silos. Mandatory storm overtime for all employees. Below-market compensation and questionable salary growth for technical roles.

Pros

-Happy with pay and benefits -Exposure to challenging large scale capital projects -Enjoyed collaborating with many other departments -Lots of smart, helpful, and diverse coworkers -Volunteer and development opportunities available -Work life balance such as generous parental bonding leave -Working in and with many diverse communities -Opportunity to work on stretch projects and join committees to help improve the business

Cons

-Much different organization than what I signed up for, helped grow, and enjoyed years prior -Nearly constant reorganization of structure and frequent turnover in leadership roles -Distrust in most of the leadership I’d reported to -Prides themselves on being a top tier ethical company, but did not feel supported (or in some cases even acknowledged) by the ethics team in my experience;; nepotism and favoritism is frequently noted. -I was let go suspiciously soon after returning from my medical leave with close to no explanation, no direction on returning company assets etc, and no exit interview. (Sadly, I was somewhat relieved because my experience had become so negative especially with my line manager) -Poor morale amongst the department. Little to no team building practices -Received almost no training or guidelines for a role that I was entirely responsible for -Job postings do not accurately depict the roles -No progression for my role established -In theory there is ample opportunity to move around, but I personally did not feel like I could spend a significant part of my career there (even if having the best experience) -HR appears to be there to serve management and not employees -Large gap between highly experienced, long time employees and inexperienced new employees

Pros

Benefits pretty good. Some good co workers.

Cons

Everything- Dealing with angry customers , and then once you deal with that you have nagging supervisors that tell you that you did not use the correct verbiage lol. And need to keep those call times down.
