Pros

One of the best companies to work for. The benefits are outstanding, although over the years they have been watered down. But compared to other companies National Grid treats its employees very well. Mostivated a day eager employees have endless potential for anyone that is self driven.

Cons

Progression and advancement is left to the individual. Response to weather events is a routine part of the job and very disruptive to family life, but it's a utility... That's terms of employment.

A well-organised company

Pros

National Grid undertook Scheduling & Management software update roll-out that was very well organised. IBM did the overall project management, Wipro (India) the development and QA Training the end-user training. Would that all roll-outs were as well-managed as this one!

Cons

Hot desking for all; no litter bins allowed, but some people will argue these are good ideas...
