Pros

Wide variety of tasks. Important work for maintenance and operation of system. Potential for technical growth can be encouraging as a "good job feel". High job security level and decent benefits. Active in-house education system for safety procedures and protocols necessary for field work well supported by the company.

Cons

Job can have a glass ceiling with long periods between promotions (and associated pay increases) if viewed as "out of favor" with direct manager. Upgrading of computer equipment needed for the technicians work a very slow process. Lack of confidentiality can thwart attempts to gain another position in an associated department.
