Pros

I spent 17 years as a network engineer for New England Electric System (NEES) I was a great place for the first 10 years until they sold out to NGRID. After a year thing started to change slowly and then very rapidly over the next 7 years with several aquisitions and the company they bought somehow was always given control..

Cons

Because of these takeovers the original company employees were stomped on and made to bow down to the companies grid bought. Worthless systems replaced fully functional production systems. Takeover after takeover they chewed up people and spit them out after long term employment. Nothing mattered but the bottom line of the business. There way of getting rid of higher priced payroll - OUTSOURCING and the elimination of the pension plan. I'm Not bitter and have moved on to much better things - these guys ruined a lot of lives for the sake of the dollar.
