Pros

Good bens. Solid salaries. Nice coworkers. Washington office is beautiful, Chicago office needs some upgrades.

Cons

Leadership hired in the last year or 2 is breaking up a solid and optimistic staff by being really bureaucratic and demoralizing. It is hard to watch. Maybe in another year, when a lot of current staff have left they will rebuild a better workplace. I don't plan to be there to wait for that miracle. The CAO is especially callous.

Pros

The work can be rewarding and colleagues are diverse and interesting.

Cons

Very dysfunctional organization; top leadership characterized by a lot of in-fighting. There is no single mission or vision different departments agree upon, leading to a climate of distrust. The new employee handbook is out of the 1970's with a lot of big brother is watching policies.
