Pros

Can work remote. Opportunity for growth. Pay for licensing.

Cons

The burnout is real. It has been back to back calls for the last 6 months and most of management isn’t super supportive or understanding about it. They laid off a bunch of employees at the end of March and 5 mins in between calls became 1 second between calls. Absolute mind numbing work. Brought concern about this to one of my leaders and was basically laughed at. This job is also very dependent on what manager you’re randomly assigned. 1st manager out of training was completely rude to put it gently. Took 3 months before he ever met with me 1 on 1. Called me the wrong name and then told me I wasn’t his choice to be hired.

Pros

They provide you with a laptop, cell phone

Cons

The management overworks you, they demand you work over your 40 hour salary for no extra pay but that same manager clocks out at 4:30pm. They also "suggest" you work weekends and late nights to finish projects but then try to feed you lines stating you should have a work live balance only for that to be questioned. If you have an outside life....say goodbye to it as Nationwide does not value your outside life and at times "strongly suggests" you work during this time. Some employees clock in as early as 4am to get work done when no one will call and work as late as 10pm. Some managers don't care about their employees well being and we are just numbers on a scale that brings them their bonus. In the time of Covid when it was expressed to management that an employee did not feel comfortable going into someones home to complete an inspection we were informed by their manager that they have a job and should be happy to go out for inspections; but the same manager does not do ride alongs with their employees for evaluations as they feel Covid is still to new and they don't want to bring it home to family. They demand more work that isn't possible to finish in a 8-4:30 setting. Some employees get bombarded with claims while others have barely any claims at all. There is no leveling the work. And don't get me started if you need to call out or try to work around your doctor appointments: if you try to work extra during the day and extend your day if you had a doctors appointment during lunch, management forces you to take a half a day rather than make up the time; but during this time you are still getting claims and phone calls. Some managers don't even know the systems that are being used by the employees so they avoid customer phone calls at all cost. And don't get me started on HR. They stick up for management and tell you to "cut them some slack" even when it comes to said manager making you feel uncomfortable and not liking the pressure they are putting on you. If you want to work for a company that is pure numbers based and not based on talent, personality, or work ethic: Then nationwide is for you
