Pros

Time off is great - able to earn additional time off; Tuition reimbursement; Decent pay and bonus

Cons

Politics are awful and impede progress. Leadership (and other lower-level employees) use Nationwide Nice (i.e., passive aggressive behaviors) to get what they want which doesn't make me think very highly of them.

Pros

Nationwide is a fabulous company to work for. They offer substantial employee benefits and encourage office moral and interpersonal interactions with the team. Corporate was very helpful and I felt like they honestly cared about me as an employee.

Cons

Corporate HR was not well versed in addressing inter-office bullying behaviors and inappropriate interpersonal communications that were taking place in the local office environment. VP's and Managing Attorney had no training or experience managing an office bully who had bullied, threatened and intimidated other support staff before my employment, during my employment or after my employment ended.

Pros

Company cares about associate engagement, provides a generous benefits plan including a bonus and fitness center, good amount of vacation days, and many opportunities to network through associate resource groups and events. Associates can wear jeans all the time (except when meeting outside partner and higher execs)! Taking a lunch or a coffee break is encouraged. Hours can be flexible and associates can work from home to accommodate a variety of circumstances.

Cons

Best person isn't always promoted first due to politics. Some arms of Nationwide are sort of invisible, which can be an issue when interviewing in another area. Moving up pay bands is almost impossible in some areas.
