Pros

Treated like you are family. Worked from home. Always able to contact one of my team members and/or my manager, Director or AVP if needed. Full time associates earn PTO time off that can be used as sick time or just off time. Earned 2 weeks vacation time from day one until five years when you earn an extra week. I worked for Nationwide 20 years and had 5 weeks of time off. Plus all the holidays.

Cons

Difficulty moving from one position to another. Even though jobs are offered internally and anyone can apply, most managers already know who they want in that position and only go through the motions of interviewing others before they make their final decisions. I was encouraged to go to college when I was in my fifties believing that I could move to a better paying position within the department, only to spend money I really didn't have and ended up with a huge student loan debt when I retired.

Pros

More than likely they will be around for the long haul. Associates who went through the extensive training to become experts have a skill set built to take to other companies.

Cons

- pay is below the industry - training has come to complete stop - bonuses are little to non existing unless you are VP or CEO level - you can never compete with numbers always saying you aren't doing enough - work life balance is not doable with the lack of staffing and available coverage - you are expected to be on call 24/7 with new losses and emails pushing to your personal cellphone - benefits are very expensive and minimal company match for retirements

Not a good company to work for

Pros

They allow you to work from home

Cons

They have a good ole boy mentality and if you are not in the click, you will be overlooked. There are no African American leaders in this company and it does not appear they want any. There is no diversity and inclusion at this company.
