      Great Company...Don't stay in P&C

      Pros

      1. Development opportunities for hard workers 2. Most of the supervisors are great and willing to help you move forward 3. Opportunity to move up is available if you want it bad enough

      Cons

      1. Upper management is out of tune with their workforce 2. Flexibility in schedule is only done for those they like 3. P&C has EXTREMELY poor leadership and direction

      Pros

      Flexible PTO, good life/work balance, manageable workload, team oriented, engagement is valued.

      Cons

      Salary is significantly lower than industry standard, very micromanaged, underwriters are put on a scheduled phone loop, department has turned into more of a call center/processing center based with the goal of grinding out work as opposed to customer serviced based, and production/quality goals are unrealistic and unattainable.

      Pros

      Benefits, bonus for the select few, long term employment if you can withstand mid level Management.

      Cons

      Long term employees have no other training other than what they have accumulated at Nationwide. Most employees that have been there longer than 20 years do not have degrees, yet, they are held to lower standard than those incoming Associates that do have an education combined with the experience. There is a bully atmosphere amongst mid-level Managers along with those who have been in the HR Section long term.
