Toxic culture everywhere you turn

Pros

Free food, pet friendly, nice coworkers and some very lovely customers. When the app works one day, it can possibly be a game changer.

Cons

Leadership from the Top down needs to be changed. The culture is so toxic. Zero internal transparency. No raise in 3 years. Favoritism rampant. Sad to see so many wonderful people impacted and let go with no notice.

Thank you for sharing your feedback and I’m sorry to hear that this has been your experience. The impact of COVID-19 on the travel industry was very swift, and having to reduce our workforce was not a decision that was made lightly, but was necessary in order to ensure long-term viability of the business. We acknowledge there is always opportunity to improve workplace culture. Your feedback, and the feedback from others on the team is an integral part of making that happen. In an effort to understand more and take the steps necessary to making those improvements, I would encourage you to reach out directly to leaders within support, your People Success Business Partner, or to me directly so that we understand your perspective and how we can improve.

A company that doesn't know which way to travel.

Pros

Not exactly sure. They pay is decent for what you are hired for but somehow your job title changes with a more demanding workload. You will receive no pay increase after 3 years.

Cons

This company leaves you in the dark. They fired 300 people over a zoom call with no notice at all. This was to save company money due to Covid19. Yet they are still hiring executives?

Thank you for sharing your perspective. I’m sorry to hear this has been your experience. I understand that it can be confusing to see continued hiring after the layoffs in March and I also understand how personal this can feel to see colleagues let go. Having to reduce our workforce in response to the impact COVID-19 has had on our industry was a last resort in order to ensure long-term viability of the business. To your point about current hiring, we believe we have an opportunity to further define our product in the marketplace once travel resumes, so we are in fact resuming hiring of certain strategic roles in Sales, Engineering, and across leadership to ensure that we are set up to come out stronger than ever once the crisis passes. In terms of your feedback regarding promotions and workload, it’s vital that employees feel recognized for the work they do and understand growth opportunities. I would truly love to understand more about your experience, and would encourage you to reach out to me directly or to any of our People Success Business Partners to share your feedback and understand where there is opportunity to do better.

Pros

TripActions actually has a great product, mainly because most competitors are stuck in the 90s. But TA has kept up with modern technology and design principles. They will for sure be a leader in the industry in the years to come as long as they do the bare minimum of keeping up with the times. Pre-COVID: - Free breakfast, lunch and snacks - Nice office space with a coffee bar manned by private baristas - Generous travel and wellness stipends - Most employees are very friendly - Free beer after 4PM - Free shuttle from CalTrain

Cons

Pay is a little lower than market value for a Palo Alto tech startup, but the perks really made up for it. But once COVID happened, about all the perks were taken away, which made it hard for the leadership team to hide their incompetence by distracting us with free food and drinks. What makes the product so good is the sleek design and incredible price model, but a lot of energy and resources are spent on building really useless features that only 1% of all users have even bothered to look at.
