It's pretty clear the company's founder read a lot of books by Gladwell, Musk, and a few other tech startup guys and basically said "yeah, how hard can it be?" The CEO is the quintessential "boss," and not a leader. He surrounds himself with whatever yes man/woman is sucking up to him at the time, and is a fair weather friend at his best, and a deliberately malicious liar at his worst. Staff were promised Christmas bonuses and are yet to receive them. The staff is constantly told the company is doing well financially only to hear that people are unceremoniously let go without announcement or acknowledgement. The company has been on a downward trend for years, after it lost its two main contracts and regained gutted versions of them. Business development has been pursuing other contracts, but have been unable to secure anything other than short term contracts. Basically enough to make everyone feel like their jobs are constantly at risk. Upper management is equally terrible, with only one resource manager capable of functioning like a person, and the other two meriting either sneers or laughs from the staff. One pm is useless and must have some sort of dirt on the CEO to be kept around.

Terribly incompetent managers. CEO pretends to be friendly to everyone but does not value the employees whatsoever-- even those who do great work and bring in contracts. When contracts end, often on no notice and contrary to positive predictions from management, great people are let go without notice or severance. Abysmal way to treat employees...and in DC, word gets around. Everyone still there wants to get out as soon as they can. Navanti won't survive with this kind of work culture and reputation.
