      Pros

      Excellent coworkers and a really nice team environment. The work is hard, because of the nature of the CLIP program, but it was rewarding. I think back on my time there fondly. The kids made it worth it! Not for the faint of heart, but truly a rewarding position. Leaving for law school was an incredibly difficult thing to deal with because of the close bond formed with coworkers and kids.

      Pros

      Effective management and nurses, interesting patients, some solid coworkers, decent/good benefits for full-time, union, schedule is at least consistent for full-time staff, lots of opportunities for OT. Tend to hire in house staff for positions if you become more qualified while working there (i.e. will hire an MHS as a nurse once they get their license).

      Cons

      High acuity with sometimes poor staffing, you get guilt-tripped if you call off for being sick. Potential for drama with coworkers. Pay should be higher for the amount of danger you're putting yourself in and the stress/trauma that you're bound to encounter. Very little engagement from higher-ups in the company (those above the nurse managers, CEO seems not to value or care about the inpatient hospital. Depending on what floor you're on/ which shift you work, you may not get any interaction with other members of the patients' care team, such as their doctors or social workers and this can cause a significant disconnect between different staff. MHS's input is often undervalued.
