Pros

You're always a phone call away from prosperity. I've made several thousand dollars in less than ten minutes here. Handful of six figure earners on the sales force. You get a base while you build your book of business. And they're patient with you.

Cons

The only department where it's worth staying on as an employee long term is my department. It takes a solid six months to a year to start reaping any financial rewards, which actually isnt that bad comparing to other positions.

Pros

Some of the pro’s are company benefits such as health, Dental, 401k, short & long-term disability, & PTO. Additional pros are that if you work in sales, and are very driven, you can do really well with no cap on your potential earnings. Outbound sales income can vary to as low as 35k to over 150k depending on your sales skills and the clients you close and keep. Another pro is the people, 90% of my co-workers are really great people who I enjoy seeing and most are very much team-players and happy to help if you need help. I also like the casual dress code and flexibility schedule. Once you pass your “rookie” status, Stauer allows you to make your own schedule, within reason, as long as you are performing well. That is a very big pro for me. Also, they do frequent spiffs and employee lunches which is also a nice perk on occasion. The jewelry you get to see is very beautiful and fun to learn about as well. Another pro is Stayer has proved “pandemic proof” and is still hiring even with COVID so good job stability.

Cons

While there is PTO, it does not cover your sales goals if you take time off. So, unless you consistently hit and exceed your sales goal, taking a vacation is very difficult. Another con is the hourly pay is very low, especially for Minnesota. If you thrive on high-pressure and love the “challenge” of closing sales it probably won’t be a problem for you. But, if you want a steady, secure income the stress of the low hourly is high. About 50-75% of your income is commission based so when you are closing sales it’s awesome, but when business is slow it can be very stressful. Another con is the lack of growth opportunities. At Stauer, once you are hired for sales you are stuck in sales. They hire outside talent for management so if you want to grow with the company it is basically impossible. If all you want is to close sales and make lots of money, and you’re good at sales, then it’s perfect! But if you are looking for a long-term career that will eventually lead to management or a non-sales position then this company is not for you.
