      Pros

      Complex, meaningful work and real world problems to solve. Highly flexible, low corporate BS environment. Scope to grow with company. Really promising future. Good pay and benefits.

      Cons

      Intense, challenging environment where you will be pointed in the right direction, given clear expectations and then its on you to deliver. Fast growing so we almost always have resourcing constraints but the company recognises this.

      Awful, but probably not the worst

      Pros

      - Paid company events, the most significant being the multi-day offsite. - Complex and interesting product, with many technical challenges - A few nice and competent colleagues - Flexible working conditions

      Cons

      - Very controlling CEO, who insists on fine-grained control on all projects. - Manipulation and bullying in work culture - If you please the CEO, he will give you what you want. Otherwise you'll be disciplined. - Unpaid overtime expected - Things that challenge the notion that the CEO is exceptional will be met with intense covert hostility. - Ideas will be stolen (used without credit) - Uneven compensation - No path for career development for junior engineers

      Pros

      Office is close to Redfern station.

      Cons

      * CEO meddles with every decision on every project * Really ancient tech infrastructure (circa 2011 tools) * Very poor software quality management * Very poor ML and data management * Lots of traps for newbies, you never know if you're going to say something the CEO doesn't like. Was told to "Hedge my bets". * Extremely inequitable hiring practices * Very sexist work environment
