Do your homework....

Pros

Tip: Do your research, FULLY. They won't tell you a lot upfront in your interviews because of so called "company secrets" and they will try to sign you to an unusually long non-compete. Check your local laws and with an attorney before you sign anything. The big picture of the overall business is exciting however, they still operate like a small town Waco company. They are owned by one of the largest private equity companies in the world.

Cons

I would say low pay, poor benefits and you have to take off PTO when you are sick. When other companies are moving forward to help their employees have more of a work-life balance, you are still stuck with an outdated policy. Make sure you prepare to work some weekends which they don't tell you about in interviews. Also, make sure you ask in writing what your travel will be. I was told something completely different than what was required once I was brought on. One of the biggest things that shocked me was that there is no knowledge base for new hires. So to learn/figure out franchising and all of their 30 different systems and platforms, they tell you "here's the org chart, simply "just go figure it out" which is really inefficient when you have over 200 new hires doing the same thing. What I really found is that you do not do any real marketing here, you do spreadsheets & reports for the top all day everyday for no reason (with inaccurate/incomplete data mind you), you sit in a million TEAMS meetings so very little time to do any real meaningful work that moves the needle for franchise owners. To be honest, I wouldn't even call this a marketing gig, it's more of a franchise/corporate support role. Additionally, the left doesn't know what the right is doing and vice versa. There are way too many chefs in the kitchen at the top and it confuses the worker bees on the front lines that have to answer to franchise owners. Oh, and did I mention a lot of the franchise owners are not fans of the marketing department? You will spend a lot of time defending company decisions, the team and how the national budget is spent. There is zero trust from franchise owners in Neighborly from what I saw in my time here. I would run, not walk away from this company. There are better companies out there in my opinion who will treat you much better. They have hired over 200 people since the new year and that says a lot. Proceed with caution.

Pros

I’m not micromanaged, most of the people are decent.

Cons

The workload is outrageous. This company is too big and makes too much money for EAs to be handling everything that has to do with reunion. There needs to be a dedicated employee for each concept that handles nothing but reunion. It’s unrealistic for one person. There is no teamwork, half the time I dont even know who I’m supposed to report to because everyone with an “important” title thinks I’m their assistant. The workload is not evenly distributed and it’s causing Franchise Owners, WHO PAY OUR SALARIES, to be pushed to the bottom because one person is supposed to do it all.
