Maxed out duty days, physically exhausting work, you will be cleaning up operations messes all day and get zero credit for it. In fact, you will be treated like dirt and gaslighted to think the crew is the “problem”. This used to be a great job. But many years of accelerated growth coupled with very poor decisions by management and within the inflight group has made this job almost unbearable. If you are thinking of coming here (from the airlines) because you thinking working in private jets would be “fun” just stay where you are! You will easily do 10 times the work for only a small pay increase. And if you are a contractor, you will work triple the work for half the pay. Plus this is not a job you can grow old with or even until retirement. Full time is the only option and the job is physically back breaking thanks to very poor aircraft designs that leave us crawling around and getting up off the floor all day. 12+ hour shifts are the norm with minimum rest now being the goal and the scheduling software used is great at squeezing every last drop out if you. And all day long you are combating constant changes, catering not showing up, unhappy passengers, and it all falls on your shoulders to clean up the mess…there is no help from home office. You are also totally by yourself so if you are someone who can’t handle all this pressure then this isn’t the job for you. You will be out to sea without a paddle, doing your best to keep your head above water. The sad thing is, this could be a great place to work, and there are so many great employees here propping up totally inept and out of touch management. It’s a total house of cards. I’m hopeful of changes but the longer it goes on this way those hopes are dwindling.
