Pros

1. The benefits were great. 2. Had the opportunity to get to know a handful of kind, generous, and personable people.

Cons

1. There is no room for advancement for junior staff. Managers will make all kinds of excuses as to why junior staff can't have a raise or be given a promotion despite the fact that junior staff is the glue that holds the organization together. 2. Individuals have free reign to pursue their own projects but almost never receive support from their managers in order to do so. 3. New America is a toxic workplace full of incompetent managers with egos and personal agendas. Leadership is well aware of the organization's deficiencies, but regularly chooses to punish those who come forward about the aggressive, hostile, disrespectful, and outright shady behaviors of their managers. Accountability is not a concept familiar to those in management or leadership positions at New America.
