Pros

One-of-a-kind work experience, there is no place like The Times. Everyone cares about the craft, you will only find smart, motivated people here.

Cons

Salary isn't competitive with other tech jobs and leveling is kind of difficult, but I'm still here because the work is great and the people rock.

Pros

The work genuinely feels meaningful — you’re improving how people stay informed. Strong focus on subscriber engagement, retention, and long-term value instead of short-term metrics. Product teams are collaborative and very data-driven. Great cross-functional culture — PM, Engineering, Design, and Analytics work closely. High standard for product quality and experimentation. Hybrid schedule is reasonable; work-life balance is solid.

Cons

Decision-making can be slow because quality and alignment matter a lot. Lots of stakeholders across editorial, product, and growth — requires strong communication. Legacy systems in some areas mean technical debt can slow down experiments. Promotions can take time due to structured process.
