Pros

Re the business side: Very smart people are drawn to the Times for its mission, reputation and -- lately --emergence as a legitimate innovator in publishing and digital media.

Cons

Re the business side: Poor process, low comp relative to industry standards. They say there's a Times discount: people will join and stay for relatively less salary because of its mission and reputation. It's also recovering from a period of near financial death, so is under resourced in key management and operations functions.

Pros

Many people were very nice and good at their jobs.

Cons

This was the worst job I've ever had. If you have a life outside of work, this place is not for you.
