Pros

Supportive work environment, good in-office culture, people are passionate about media and news

Cons

People struggle to speak up, lack of processes, org structure is very big and hard to navigate, there is a huge divide between product and news, work/life balance varies by team, people care too much about being viewed as smart, the tech is very old and things move extremely slow, relatively low pay compared to the rest of the tech industry, work place isn't diverse

Pros

The New York Times offers competitive salary and benefits packages.

Cons

The business side of the organization is disorganized and overworks its employees. HR does not uphold the mission it touts. Managers are either clueless or deliberately abusive.
