The Caliber merge was THE STUPIDEST thing Newrez could have ever done! Instead of our current system of being directly responsible for x amount of loans, we had to learn Caliber's loan systems, which basically was like a round-robin free-for-all with a pool of random loans in a certain status that anyone could work through. The thing is, 99% of the time these loans were already prepped and just waiting in the underwriting queue, so your day was mostly spent mindlessly clicking through loans in the *hope* of finding something to do. Supervisors also began to micro-manage at this time and wanted people to keep logs of what they did to send daily. I was laid off one day in a mass meeting invite that went out maybe an hour after the workday started. A few days before that I had pushed against my supervisor who wanted me to do a task that overstepped the scope my role/responsibility, so the timing is too coincidental to not be retaliation lol
