Pros

Still trying to figure out the pros.

Cons

If the manager would just allow you to do your job, all would be well. The saying that people dont leave good companies they leave bad bosses. Dont get me wrong the managers are great because they have been doing this for 30 plus yrs but a little respect goes a long way. When you treat the reps with equal respect and not have favorites you will see a change in productivity.

Pros

Money’s good compared to rest of industry, but average or less for Long Island

Cons

Awful place to work. Company culture is the absolute worst. Lots of backstabbing and whispers behind people’s backs. Management micromanages to the fullest extent, telling you to do things over and over again over the dumbest of things. Meetings go on endlessly over (once again) the dumbest of things without anything being accomplished. Lots and lots of anger and sighing exudes from people here. Might either be stress or sad that they’re still working here for so long. Not a lot of people seem happy. Plenty of negativity from people talking about how great the past was and how doomed the company is in the future. Located in the middle of nowhere in Long Island, so good luck getting there if you live in the city or elsewhere. Traffic is insane no matter what time of day you leave. Company’s in an office park nowhere near a train station so it’s pretty much use a car or nothing to get there. Very corporate feel. Upper management almost never talks to anyone below middle management. Has cafeteria, but food is pretty overpriced and good luck getting anything hot if you’re not in before 2 p.m. Mostly stuff you could get from a vending machine. Insurance isn’t that great and costs a lot. Read a lot of negative reviews about this place before I came to work here. Can sadly confirm most of them are true.

Pros

At first, the name “Newsday” is exciting to have on a business card.

Cons

Truly, a terrible and backwards company. They don’t trust their employees and value things that absolutely don’t matter. No plan to move the business ahead in a world that’s already changed and left them in the dust. It would be surprising if they were still around in 3-5 years.
