Pros

Newsday still has a great reputation in the industry. The salary is great.

Cons

Overworked and underappreciated. The organization is extremely hierarchal and management does not care about your ideas or thoughts or goals. You don't know what it is to be micromanaged until you join Newsday. The time off is limited and you will almost certainly be bothered constantly while you are away. Even when you are off the clock, you are expected to be available and will be penalized if you don't jump when they ask you to. Forget any original thinking.
