Pros

Graduated ASU in 2009 and I went to State Farm. I liked my time in insurance and I learned a lot from the experience but I made the move to Nextiva for the promise of growing and being a part of a fast paced tech company. The long term stability with insurance sales is enticing but I'm happy that I chose Nextiva. The company was highly rated and my dad's a customer so that helped. I started in customer service and I now work with supporting new customers that signup for the service. The people I work with are cool and I really like the vibe in the office. So many people work at Nextiva but it still feels like a small tech company, kinda like a startup. Rules are not overwhelming. I like working with a lot of the customers I interact with. The food perks are a special bonus. The technology that Nextiva develops is ahead of its time as I don't see many other companies that Nextiva competes with selling the same solution. All in all the marketing and the website do a good job of showing what Nextiva is about but I especially like how we are supporting different organizations in the valley, like the childrens hospital. The service is stable but the porting and carriers get frustrating to deal with and I can talk about that in my cons.

Cons

I had to find my own way at Nextiva. There aren't clear options for where to go when you want to move throughout the company especially outside the technical positions. I think the customer service department has some really gifted people and the company can do a much better job in getting the most of out of everyone. I hate to see people leave Nextiva because they are not being challenged enough and I think this is the case with people I know. Maximizing performance needs to improve. I really think the office is in a good part of the city and I like how it's near the 101 but it would be cool if we had a sign in the front of the building that said we are Nextiva. There are lots of cool businesses I've had the opportunity to talk to since they are customers of Nextiva but I don't like how the carriers we use are careless. I get annoyed having to call carriers and wait on hold for so long. It's bad for our customers and they know it's not Nextiva's fault by most phone companies that sell services don't do a good job with customer service.

Decent culture, but if you want to make money, go somewhere else.

Pros

- Team culture - Lunch & Snacks - Benefits

Cons

- Pay is horrible - Advancement is a joke - Management lacks when protecting subordinates This has got to be the only company who advances people into new roles without any real paperwork. They move them into new positions, promise pay, make them do the work, and people are dumb enough to take it without signing something. I wouldnt be surprised that most people who have been there 3+ years have had about a $1-3 raise in the entire time they've been there. The company is making hand over fist yet they pay people with adda boys, snacks, and lunches.

We greatly value feedback at Nextiva, and thank you for taking the time to leave a review. Providing a clear career path and room for advancement to our team members is a huge focus and priority at our company. We strongly believe in fostering our internal talent and compensating them fairly for the work that they do. Team members are encouraged to choose career paths that align with their personal goals, and then we provide the coaching and tools they need to develop and succeed.
