Toxic company

Pros

nothing to mention. Toxic company

Cons

Nextracker is plagued by deeply rooted bureaucracy and disorganized management. The company culture is dominated by political infighting, with many managers and directors more focused on climbing the corporate ladder than on leading effectively or supporting their teams. Employee development is largely ignored. There is little to no genuine interest from leadership in fostering growth or creating opportunities for advancement among their staff. The environment often feels more like a power struggle than a professional workplace. Financial management is equally chaotic. Business travel is approved irresponsibly, often for individuals with no real business need, leading to wasteful spending. Meanwhile, cost-cutting measures are applied inconsistently — most notably through abrupt layoffs that seem reactive to poor stock performance rather than driven by long-term strategy. Ironically, the same roles are often reopened just months later, reflecting poor planning and instability. There is also a concerning cultural bias: Spanish speakers often enjoy disproportionate influence within the company, regardless of performance or qualifications, creating an uneven playing field. Overall, Nextracker suffers from a toxic mix of poor leadership, misaligned priorities, and structural inefficiency. It is not a place where talent is nurtured or long-term growth is realistically supported.

Pros

Midwest nice, dog friendly workplace and two days or more per week remote. Onsite yoga and saving the planet if you are into that.

Cons

Have to pretend to do what product management demands at all times, regardless of resources, schedules or anything other than their immediate goals. This was harder than you’d think as getting trivial things done is like being in a maze of twisty little passages. A decade of this has left a mind boggling amount of technical debt. They bought a Top Workplaces endorsement by over-hiring, internal promotions, title inflation and a lack of accountability. The same policies have left a vacuum of competency and experience in middle management. A striking number of people, even middle and upper managers don’t seem to even bother to show up or answer messages. Every file transfer is monitored due to the insecurity of upper management and vocally enforced to intimidate.

Pros

Incredible product that is the best on the market.

Cons

Very hectic work environment, as the ups and downs of the solar industry have people going in different directions all the time. Focus on this, drop it, focus on this, drop it, go back to the first focus. Now that we're public it is getting worse since more focus is being put on ESG.
