Pros

They are off on most holidays, 401 K

Cons

Terrible attitude towards employees. They can fire you with less than 2 days notice. The overall management is lacks any kind of direction, lots of politics. The turn over rates for this place will resemble that of fast food restaurants. If you do not respect employees, over time they will find other places that appreciate their work.

Pros

Decent salary, Good 401K match. Used to be flexible environment, but current management does not believe in flex time or remote work. most departments require 50 hour work weeks. Unlimited vacation time but hard to get time off approved.

Cons

- Terrible culture. Leaders are not interested in the well being of their people, and this is driven from the top. - They give away holiday gifts, and then deduct taxes from your paycheck!! - Leadership thinks it has a great culture, but the people in the trenches, especially in the St. Louis office (marketing, sales, HR, IT, Accounting) feel there is a major disconnect. long hours, little reward. Only Director and above get bonuses. - Promotions are handed out as favors to those who "get close" to the execs, and everyone knows this to be definitely true except the leaders. You can't go to HR because it happens there also and continues to be an issue. And people are generally afraid of the legal department. - The rumors are never-ending, and no-one is safe from this. - New people sometimes quit within the first six months when they have to work 60 hours to keep up with the work that is handed to them especially in accounting. - Power struggles at the director and vp level throughout the organization, and the subordinates can see it all happening. Lots of executive turnover also. - Location is not in a great area - nowhere to go on a lunch a break. - If you are thinking of joining Nidec, make sure you get something in writing about flex time or working hours if promised anything.

Pros

I am continuously impressed by our current CEO's leadership. Fortunately he was there to take the lead when the previous CEO left the company abruptly. We haven't looked back since. After reading the 3rd quarter business update, it was astonishing to realize the stellar performance of our company and what we have achieved in just a few short years. It was awesome to see the path we have been on summed up in a letter charged with enthusiasm and hope for the future. I'm proud to be an employee of such an impressive corporation. It was awesome to see in written words all that we have done and all in all this CEO is fair, driven and very goal-oriented.

Cons

It is sometimes challenging to understand the Japanese culture and their expectations. It would be nice if we had profit sharing because when we hear how wonderful we are doing and our pay is the same. I think we would be even more enthused to hit the targets out of the stadium and make more home runs if we had some vested stake in the company through some sort of profit sharing plan. We would be even more excited to work hard and keep delivering first class results.
