Pros

Commute was decent, opposite area of St. Louis where traffic heads. The Nidec company as a whole growing. Very big company and presented as very diverse in business. It is nice to know you are part of something bigger and greater. Impressive lineup of who Nidec includes.

Cons

Stay away from St. Louis shared services! The opportunity is not what was represented in interview for the shared services division.Old fashioned, old fashioned, old fashioned, outdated systems processes. People were literally there loosing skill set and dying on vines. Toxic management everywhere downstairs. Tension between managers and workers. People are miserable, I left after 4months. No one wants to stay. Employees all transfer out or are pushed out. Please don’t be fooled by the name or management. Very clicky and negative, not a good vibe. I got out fast. No vision or strategy.

Pros

The Company is growing in markets that find other competitors struggling. The focus of the management team is on making the business stronger and capable of weathering any storm and is engaged from the formulation of strategy and execution (very hands on). The businesses are expanding into markets not served before with an eye on growth and diversification. “New Products, New Markets, and New Customers” is the name of the game here….challenge the norm to grow both the core and expand the offerings for the future.

Cons

Tough environment at times with aggressive stretch goals. Many reports generated that are questioned on value (although intended to highlight opportunities and drive action). As with any technology company it is often difficult to see the long-range vision as the landscape changes rapidly and the company must adjust with it. Agility is a key trait to work here.
