Pros

The Company is growing in markets that find other competitors struggling. The focus of the management team is on making the business stronger and capable of weathering any storm and is engaged from the formulation of strategy and execution (very hands on). The businesses are expanding into markets not served before with an eye on growth and diversification. “New Products, New Markets, and New Customers” is the name of the game here….challenge the norm to grow both the core and expand the offerings for the future.

Cons

Tough environment at times with aggressive stretch goals. Many reports generated that are questioned on value (although intended to highlight opportunities and drive action). As with any technology company it is often difficult to see the long-range vision as the landscape changes rapidly and the company must adjust with it. Agility is a key trait to work here.

Pros

They are finally hiring new leaders and executives. I've been here many years and it was the same ol' thing. Finally new ideas, fresh perspective on things. It is good to see. New VP HR, new CFO, new operations. Alot of needed changes being introduced. Definitely a change is style, it is more aligned with what our Japan headquarters wants. YOu can finally reach out to an HR executive that knows what she is talking about, before just company babysitters with no business sense. Our CFO is ruffling feathers, but we know he needs to do the things he is doing. Jury is still out on Procurement but a lot of people are impressed with this new team. Old team might be a little threatened, so I'm sure they are watching and hopefully being motivated by these new players. Pay is good, our benefits are good, only 401k which is really good but no pension anymore.

Cons

CEO. CEO.CEO. The new CFO should replace him. No one here is sure how he was selected, he is smart, knows our motors and market. He is not an executive leader, he was a better president. He plays favorites and keeps the same players around him at all times and just gives them new titles and promotions. He lacks respect in the business and trust. It's not his integrity or behaviors, he is just not a CEO. We are always waiting for someone coming back and telling us what Japan needs and how we are always not good enough. No motivation to work and succeed. The culture is basically some stupid thing they asked us to stick to our employee badge, no real training.

Pros

Largest electric motor company in the world -- $10B sales. Technology and Growth oriented company supplying tiny motors in your iphones, iwatches to very large motors for pumping gas and oil pipe lines. Company has no debt. Very aggressive in investing for both organic growth as well as through acquisitions. Very much team oriented company.

Cons

Very demanding compare with other mid-western industrial companies. It is not a 9 to 5 job. Expect manager and above level employees and executives to reply emails even in the weekends.
