Competitive Product, Terrible place to start sales career
Pros
Good people and a decent product
Cons
I worked as an inside sales rep for a year at Nimble and it didn't take long for me to realize how dysfunctional the company was from an inside sales perspective. I don't know what was more alarming, the fact that only about a quarter of the team was consistently hitting quota, or the fact that management didn't have a semblance of a clue when came to how a methodical sales process actually works. Maybe this is because they hire managers with retail backgrounds rather than tech sales backgrounds (the last one came from Target). If you want to start a sales career at a place with an unattainable quota and no management that can effectively teach you proficient sales processes, in a dying and commoditized market, then Nimble is the place for you. However, if you're actually looking for the growth and knowledge to get into a closing role at some point, I'd look elsewhere.
