Pros

So far, I've worked at Noble Desktop for 18 great years. I'm proud of the work I've done and I'm happy with how I've been treated. The founder, Scott Carson, did an amazing job creating and growing this business from scratch. How many people can create a business that continues for 28 years in NYC? Scott truly cares about the students and employees and wants the best for everyone. While Scott did not come from a business background, he is smart and often made very keen decisions that many people would not have had the insight for. Noble teaches many students each year, with a relatively small staff (an office staff of about 4-6 people, plus teachers). That means everyone is important to the operation. It's been nice to be able to see the impact I (and others) have had, and to be able to take concerns directly to the person in charge.

Cons

Noble has a small staff, so you must get along well with others. You won't get your own office so you can work in isolation. That's not a con for me, but maybe it is for some.

Pros

Hires knowledgable and experienced instructors. The textbooks meticulously guide students step by step, and the material is updated with each course experience, after which it is shared with the students, who can still come for advice.

Cons

perhaps some exercises could be done in a slightly different order

Pros

Very smart, friendly and helpful staff. The company does not ask you to give up your work/life balance. You can enroll for free in Noble Desktop as an employee, so that's free and very valuable professional development.

Cons

The CEO is disorganized, disrespectful to employees, and has very little business acumen. The company is falling behind competitors like General Assembly, Startup Institute, Flatiron School. There is little teamwork/collaboration between staff, so at work you are mostly sitting by yourself without talking to anyone.
