Pros

NTG is a fun working atmosphere that provides real money-making opportunities for anyone right out of college. I met some great people there, learned a ton about the trucking industry, and was making pretty decent money by the end of my first year.

Cons

With the fun, loose atmosphere at NTG comes immaturity and disorganization. The work environment is loud and unprofessional. The brokers are pampered and catered to, while the ops team is made to feel like 2nd class citizens. The company lacks strong leadership from the top down - constantly changing commission policies, fabricated job titles, and a general lack of direction. During this period of growth, the upper management is more worried about filling their pockets than creating a sustainable business plan.

Pros

The office is fun if you like the fraternity style work environment, and very casual dress code, decent amount of just hanging out and chatting with your buddies when you aren't helping carriers or making sales calls.

Cons

ITS A CALL CENTER!!! Saturated market, which means it is very hard to find (YES YOU WILL FIND YOUR OWN LEADS) and sign new customers, and if you do, it can be spoiled on the first load by sketchy carriers. Only thing you can control is the number of sales calls you make, which usually never go well, because there is ZERO training. You lie all day everyday to your customers and carriers You are attached to your emails 24/7....even if you are "off" for a day, so your not really off.

Pros

Easy industry to learn quickly. They pay for 100% of your medical insurance and have a good 401K plan.

Cons

This is definitely a sales game. High turn over rate. Your numbers have to be right otherwise you're out of there. I would say this is not the most reputable company in the industry and business ethics were questionable at times. Continual credit issues hamper the sales ability of employees negotiating with carriers. In an industry where the point of contact with the customer is a truck driver/carrier, these relations and credit issues continual effected my ability to make more money.
