Pros
I have been working with NTG for a little under 3 years now and I have thoroughly enjoyed my time so far. I started as an Account Manager in our Nashville office and have been able to work my way up since then. This company truly does promote from within and gives their employees the opportunity to come in and build a career. Yes, the Account Manager position is challenging, what sales job isn't? You come in and you start with zeros next to your name. You have to build a book of business and make a name for yourself. But if you embrace the grind, trust the process, utilize the management team in the office and learn everything you can about this industry, you can become very successful in this company. The logistics industry isn't for everyone, it is tough. But if you are motivated by competition, if you like working in a fast paced and team oriented environment, if you can handle rejection and power through the first few months of making cold calls...this company is worth the time and worth the effort. If you want a 9-5 job where you come in and do the bare minimum to just get by, then this job and this industry isn't for you. But, if you are hungry and motivated to build a career in sales, this company is a great opportunity. The training is fantastic and the management team is knowledgeable and hungry to grow this company into the biggest freight brokerage in the game. NTG has been my family for almost 3 years now and I wouldn't trade this experience for the world.
Cons
Logistics is 24/7, 365. There are times you need to login and fix a problem or quote a customer or help out with something after hours.
