      Pros

      - nice office facility located in a nice area of Colchester - friendly and professional colleagues to work with - you get the chance to work on some real software and hardware challenges and learn from experts in the field

      Cons

      - career progression can be very slow and frustrating; you have to exceed your manager’s unknown expectation to be worthy of being considered for a promotion - too hierarchical and many management layers within the businesses which can be sometimes annoying especially when someone needs to agree on a learning and dev budget for the tech team - lack of recognition and appreciation of the dev team from the business side, only key business people and managers are recognised when they make a breakthrough or receive an award
