Pros

Hands down...this is the best company I have ever worked for. The Nordstrom culture thrives in CR, IA. It is a very "family oriented" culture. Most of the management know all the employees names, their kids names and maybe even their dogs names...you're not another number at Nordstrom and the people care. They want to see them succeed; they challenge and lead them to thrive. Not only do they care but also motivate by always doing extra things for their employees such as treats during busy seasons and pep-rallies to encourage teamwork.

Cons

The benefits package is fair but it would be better if the bump up in vacation days was 3 years, instead of 5 (especially for salaried employees).

Pros

Nordstrom was a terrific part-time job to hold during college. The scheduling was flexible, the pay was good (commission based, so you could easily make as little or as much as you wanted).

Cons

It is, after all, retail. Work every Saturday (and most Sundays) is pretty inevitable. As well, when it's slow, people can tend to kind of fight for customers.
