      Pros

      Nordstrom certainly remains one of the best stores as far as what you have to sell, the merchandise is great and if you have a good customer base and the right hours to work the money can be good. The posibilities for upward advancement are still good if you are a high acheiver..they do promote from within.

      Cons

      The new sales quotas are extemely high and difficult to achieve unless you have an established customer base..the focus on agressive sales tactics and continual phone campaigning is new and a 180 degree change from the friendly customer service ideals in past years.

      Good benefit package, employee discount ; excellent work environment and friendly customers; esy to develop repeat customer base; excellent training available

      Cons

      inconsistent work hours; back biting among sales associates; managers show favoritism toward some in granting requested days off versus constantly denying others; quality of apparel is far less than in years past and is regulary noted by customers

      Pros

      Great discount. Opportunities to advance. Health benefits. Employees are empowered to make decisions without having to call in management.

      Cons

      Saw favoritism from Department Managers and it was fueled by the encouraging of tattle tellers. If they didn't like you, they'd find the smallest reasons to fire you and have them add up. This however was an isolated incident that was witnessed. Other than that it's still a nice place to work.
