      Nordstrom, don't miss the boat!

      Pros

      Self expression, friendship, ability to provide top level customer service and a very bright future. Everything else will fall into place if you just work! Don't get involved in petty conversations, play hard when you can, but always remember you are running a business.

      Cons

      You have to punch in to work. I like to get to work early and stay late. Sometimes, I don't want to punch in, I would rather just come in, even on off days to stay in the Nordstrom conversation. To be able to do this for free sometimes, instead of punching in would be great, because I don't want to take away from my managers budget!

      The company as a whole is based on a good philosophy that it continues to thrive on.

      Cons

      Management at this specific Nordstrom is horrible. Most managers are incompetent and play favorites incessantly. Do not plan on ever getting promoted regardless of your performance and qualifications unless you are really best friends with your manager no matter how idiotic they may be. If you are best buddies with any manager you will get promoted in the company. Do not plan to advance soley on good performance and qualifications.

      great place to build a career quickly if you put your effort into it. love customer base. enjoy the store culture. i really have built special relationships with fellow employees and even customers. if you have great communication,presentation andpeople skills this the place for you. they are flexible with your schedule. love working at nordstrom.

      Cons

      for a salesperson like myself it is definitely the return policy because it definitely affects your paycheck, but it gives more drive to keep up with sales goals. in these tough economic times not getting paid hour plus commision is a downside.
