Pros

Good Pay. Decent Benefits. Employees are rewarded for hard work. Overall spirit of the company as a whole is positive and energetic.

Cons

This job can easily take over your life; rain, sleet, snow, or blizzard you're expected to be there and there's little to no chance of getting holidays, sales, or any other blackout dates to travel or spend with family. The company's commitment and dedication to their customers is what helps them profit, but that can oftentimes be at the expense of their own employees. I'm a student who works part-time, but I have absolutely no interest in moving up within the company or starting my career at Nordstrom. In the years ive worked there I've seen hard working managers sent packing just as quickly as they've come. BUT, if you're just interested in sales you can make just as much (if not more, trust me) as an assistant manager.

Pros

Good benefits, friendly and loyal customers, great co-workers, employee discounts even when items are on sale and at Nordstrom Rack locations.

Cons

Pay can be low if you do not make commision during a pay period. If you don't sell enough you could get fired.
