Pros

I love working from home. I enjoy the inbound calls, my manager is already available, and the training is the best in the industry.

Cons

The technology is a little overwhelming if you were not brought up around computers.

Pros

Working from home is great. Management is nice enough, perhaps some are too enthusiastic. The commissions are paid quickly. It's not a scam.

Cons

You will be on the phone all day talking with mostly elderly clientele in the market for final expense insurance. These leads are generally prospects who are low income and/or disabled and/or financially hurting. If you're not comfortable selling to a prospect like that - entirely by phone - stay away from this job.

Pros

guess it works for some, but a cattle drive.

Cons

Don't get sucked into this "work from home" make great money. 1st. they charge you $499 for a "seat" at training. Wonder how successful they are at this as they are always running hiring ads everywhere. 2nd. Then they tell you you need to be licensed in min. 6 states. cost $600-700. Your supposed to pay this before ANY training to onboard you, yet instead of giving you time to get through licensing and everything, they jam you. Instead of letting you know by tuesday, early wednesday, its last thing thursday aft. or Friday morning to get all Docs in so your qualified to attend training---after you already spent $499. to get a seat. AND--if you fall behind in training--good luck-- your pretty much dead in the water having spent money.

North Star Insurance Advisors Response

Thank you for leaving a review of what you experienced while subscribing to our platform as an independent contractor looking to scale their insurance business while working remotely from home. You were never employed by North Star Insurance Advisors as your review would lead people to believe. We appreciate your engagement, but we are very disappointed to read that you did not have a positive experience with North Star. We would like to clarify that North Star is always running hiring ads because the company is experiencing an exponential amount of growth. It is only natural that as the company is experiencing such a large amount of growth that we must continue to hire to fill the new positions. North Star would also like to clarify the statement “they tell you need to be licensed in min. 6 states.” North Star recommends this because if new agents do not have multiple states to sell in, they will have a very hard time getting enough leads to run a successful business and support yourself and your family. These licenses must be acquired before you start training because there is a very short time between training and when you are able to start selling on the phones. Without those licenses the agents will find it very hard to start a successful business. Our company does require agents to commit to two months of subscription services up front because you need to give yourself time to work through any potential learning curves. We don’t want to waste your time or ours as a great many resources are extended to ensure a new agent’s success with us. Our team in charge of training works around the clock to help all the new agents through their training and into the start of their new business venture. That said, we still wish you all the best in your future endeavors.
