Interdisciplinary areas are promoted. NIce facilities. excellent gym. Nice location (downtown Boston, near Museum of fine arts) Plenty of food options.

Cons

Level of education is not very high. Downtown Boston can be expensive.

Pros

There are a lot of really great people working at Northeastern, and a number of departments are loaded with young professionals that are bringing in new perspectives and innovative approaches to everyday tasks and frequent concerns.

Cons

Human Resources does a fairly poor job with nearly everything. Salary negotiations are fairly torturous, the review process tends to diminish individual achievements and therefore a chance for a bonus, and salaries fall at the low ends of the grades. Also, as an internal staff member, you are not allowed to apply for an internal job for at least a year even if you're qualified and the next job in your career path opens up... that is such a ridiculous, archaic policy.
