Senior leadership doesn't care to help you, nor do they recognize good quality work on a regular basis. There doesn't seem to be a lot of trust in the workers who execute the everyday operations. Senior leaders say they listen and care, but are very political and talk in circles and quick to hire top brass without hiring the most basic of needs for the employees who are working hard to keep NU afloat.

I’ve seen countless cases of nepotism, cronyism, and favoritism related to hiring, promotion, and raises. When I’ve seen this, information on what makes this person the best person for the job is rarely shared. There also seems to be a lack of transparency related to recruitment, hiring processes & practices, and not enough community involvement. I’ve seen a lot of great emails and speakers related to Black Lives Matter, but very slow changes and minimal opportunities for community involvement. We need new people to bring in new ideas and not just focus on reforming systems & practices that have failed people of color.
