The people, for the most part, care about their work and the students. Good benefits Payment isn't great for the Boston area, but it could be worse Some offices are still hybrid

Cons

Chronically understaffed, high turnover rate University is constantly implementing new changes that make little sense. With advisors as the first resource students often go to, we bear the brunt of discontent.

- you'll work with people who care deeply about teaching and who are willing to share what worked for them (speaking for the math department) - you'll likely get re-hired for the next term if student enrollment keeps up and your evaluations are decent - good option for a part-time job

Cons

- students may not understand you are part-time - path to a longer /full-time contract is unclear - if you need class coverage because of an emergency, you're mostly on your own to find a kind co-worker to take over I can only hope the last two issues have been addressed and improvements made during the pandemic.
