Pros

Good benefits and good clients.

Cons

Managers at Northern don't manage - they control. Be prepared to be minimized, devalued and disrespected. The company takes talented people and beats them down until they leave or get replaced. That loyalty nonsense certain employees preach is just that - nonsense. And while managers know all this, the dirt gets swept under the rug and no one speaks up for fear of being next.

Pros

Most employees have been there for over 20 years. They have great resources for their employees & families, too.

Cons

You have to either know someone or be teachers pet to have any chance at promotions / salary increases. You can go above and beyond and management won't blink an eye. It's really sad! Also, NT would rather hire a team overseas to save a buck than hire or keep you hired in the US. Emp recognition is the WORST!!!!!!! I highly recommend staying clear of NT (ANY POSITION)

Pros

There is a large part of the company that is strongly aligned with truly helping out the client. Great clients and fantastic reputation.

Cons

The weakest part of the company are the executives of the company. From the CEO to the most of the business unit heads, they are self absorbed and completely out of touch with what is happening. Unfortunately, this group has been stagnant for too long -- now is focused on "getting the stock price up" -- so that they can even further cash in before they retire. In the meantime, they huddle on the third floor and try to figure out whom to blame for not meeting sales projections or stupid emails praising their own thoughts. ('a approach, or 'my ideas on excellence").
