Pros

There are many different jobs to do in one location. You have the option of research, you can stay in your on place and work on things by yourself. You have the opportunity to grow as an individual professionally and personally. They also have a great program for new hires and it allows them to network and meet great people within the company. You don't feel so alone once you get out and get involved in the various activities.

Cons

There is a lack of minority leadership within the sector

Pros

Decent pay, Stability, Interesting work, good benefits. Broad range of work opportunities and locations. Human resource functions are fairly easy to use. Gnerally understanding of work life/balance. Pension ( for how long, who knows!)

Cons

Too big, too structured, one size fits all mentality, Lack of opportunities to advance from within. Too imbued with military culture, to inflexible. Too much time wasted on corporate babble that does not make me better or more efficient at my job. No ability among lower level employees to innovate. Too dependant upon government work.

Pros

Great company overall. There are lots of opportunities to move around, the other employees are great.

Cons

Senior management is not very open with information. Defense contracting means you often don't know if you will have a job 6 months or a year from now. Corporate policies can be intense but not all offices enforce all of them. Not getting this or that contract may mean you get 'moved around' against your will. I also didn't think they compensated enough for jobs based in expensive locations.
