Pros

If you can secure work overseas it's a great way to travel the world and live on the economy BUT have the reach-back capability of the U.S. military base (APO/FPO box, BX, etc...) If you get on the right contract it can be very rewarding. NGIT will also work with you to secure employment at another location if you lose coverage.

Cons

Lack of training, lack of upward career progression. To be fair most contracting companies have the same problem. Moving from contract to contract can be a drag but some people like that sort of thing.

Pros

Broad range of opportunities. Good people to work with. Great knowlwdge base to work with and learn from.

Cons

Slow to promote and slow to recognize good work. Too often having to play catch up to market trends.

Pros

There is a lot of different types of projects. The amount of hours allows one to have a life outside of work.

Cons

Personal growth is hampered by stale movement. Employees get stuck on projects because its best for the project but not best for the company or the employee. It can get boring sometimes and it takes a lot to muster the excitement that you initially start with.
