Pros

Relaxed Environment - Jeans and a collared shirt, tshirt on Fridays, you know the drill. Convenient Location - Location makes getting to the office somewhat easy, but that doesn't mean no traffic. Better than going to MacDill everyday though that's for sure. Lots of Learning Opportunities - There is little to no tribal knowledge here. Everyone, so far, has been more than willing to teach what they know. Room to Move Around - With so many teams, it seems quite easy to get in the door with one role then work to get put elsewhere. Management - I find myself with a new manager quite often, but never once have I felt that I couldn't vent to them for the sake of just getting something off my chest. When I'm grinding through to meet a deadline and I see my manager is one of the few left in the building with me at 2100, there's a small feeling of solidarity. Most managers are technical and you won't realize are managers at first as they tend to blend in and be easy to talk to. The "in the trenches with you" types.

Cons

You Will Be Thrown In The Deep End If You Don't Speak Up - The mentality isn't necessarily a bad one, but if you say you can do something you'll be expected to do it or speak up and state you need some help. Sometimes this can mean you aren't as skilled as you needed to be to complete a task or, more likely, more resources will be needed than were initially thought. This isn't a place for one unwilling/unable to speak up when needed. Management Shakeup - There was a wild shakeup a while back that's still being felt. From what I understand, it was desperately needed, but that doesn't mean everyone was happy about it or that it didn't have consequences. After a year in my role, I'm still individuals that seemed to have a chip on their shoulders and I get the feeling that it's not a clear cut case. More effort needs to made to better define roles of who's in charge of who and this business of managers splitting their time between locations needs to be remedied. Luckily I don't find myself needing my manager often or else it may be a week or two before I see them next.

Pros

Surrounded by great people and hard workers, always willing to help when needed, positive outlook on their efforts.

Cons

Small atypical site. Job growth needs to be expanded. Currently going through growing pains and changes to push the organization in a more resilient ‘NG-like’ direction. Results of change and growth will likely lead to turnover and a struggle to get footing, but if I compare current-state to when I started a some years ago, progress has been made.
