Pros
Some of the union benefits are actually great. Pay next to nothing for health insurance and coverage is decent. Especially the mental health benefits, in which you will use heavily while here (Pro tip - stress leave it real. Thank this review for that tidbit, later). Also, absolutely NO degree required for upper management positions! They will also accept those with little to no experience. If you wear pink on Wednesdays, it's an automatic 'in'!
Cons
Is there a word count here? Tough to pick favorites, but here we go! The professionalism is outstanding, in the worst of ways. There is a very 'do as I say, not as I do' vibe. Definitely a top-down, learned behavior. Several management employees cannot answer simple questions which isn't so much of a problem as not being able to find the answers is. Clarity will never be a strength here, but it makes for a lot of inside jokes amongst 'lower level' employees. Silver lining? You decide. The company does have a strong 'we are family' mentality, as long as you are comparing it to an orphanage where the end goal is to get a better 'family' than the one you got. To be fair, many homegrown companies use the same slogan - so maybe this explains the dysfunction? Who knows... But, for sure a lot of weird uncles and aunts who you have to be nice to, but don't like even a little bit. Basically, the culture is fire! Like... on fire. Garbage fire. 10/10 don't recommend. Took away GIF's in teams :( makes communication harder when a meme is much more accurate than words.
