Pros
There are groups in Quakertown PA, Lenexa KS, Bethlehem PA, and Owings Mills MD. I worked extensively with the folks in Kansas and the folks in Quakertown, and they were all absolutely fantastic. Kind, welcoming, supportive, diligent, competent, and honest coworkers is the top pro at Novatech in my book. Another pro is the nature of the work. The Novatech products I worked with help power companies power the world. Without dependable electricity, daily life as we know it would not exist. I truly enjoyed being able to help power America and beyond. Some brief other pros: profit sharing makes everyone pitch in and work hard. An employee suggestion system which is actually taken seriously and handled completely transparently. Regular company meetings sharing the company's performance, outlook, and updates. Work-life balance was excellent - the company respects you as a person. The company prioritized personal development.
Cons
The company can be slow to react to market changes, and can be reactive instead of proactive. Due to being a small company dependent on a few big companies, Novatech can sometimes make decisions better for their short-term balance sheet that strategic long-term decisions. Nevertheless, the senior leadership team tries to keep a watch out for this. Some other cons: I personally didn't care for Kansas City. The groups developing the power products can struggle to take ownership and admit to problems. Like all small companies in the age of the ACA, health plans are subpar, although Novatech does try as hard as it can.
