Pros

Nurturing Wisdom was an absolutely amazing company to work for. I left to pursue my career as a classroom teacher, and I do not think I would be the teacher that I am today if it weren't for Nurturing Wisdom. I learned so many skills to customizing education to students that I am able to apply in my classroom. Among the numerous pros, I would include: -supportive staff focused on helping each team member grow -flexibility to create your own schedule -well-planned and research-based curriculum -all tutors and administrators focused on student success -numerous opportunities for growth within the company I would absolutely work for this company again!

Cons

You must drive to clients' homes, although this comes with the territory of being an in-home tutor. It did help me create a close relationship with each family I worked with, however.

Pros

I’ve worked with NW for over two years now. I can’t say enough good things about them. In fact, I’ve even encouraged several of my friends to begin tutoring with NW. Prior to working for NW, I taught high school for ten years in both the city and suburbs. I received more support and professional development from NW than I ever did as a teacher. Aside from the great students you get to work with, what I truly love about NW is the small company feel and the idea that you the tutor really mean something to the company.

Cons

I admit the price they charge families seem high, but when you compare it to other tutoring companies it is on par. Also when you realize how many people are working to support each tutor and student match you can see where the money goes.

Thank you for your review! We are so happy to hear that you enjoyed tutoring and felt supported. Your feedback about orientations is something we've heard from other tutors, and we now talk about it early and often so that expectations are clear. Regarding the matching process, as you know, it's a bit of an art and a science, with lots of moving parts. It's really important to us to make a strong match so that tutoring is as productive as possible. Tutoring directors consider subject matter, personality, availability, and the overall "feel" of a match. Every once in a while, it takes time to get a new tutor up and running with that right fit, but more often than not, we're able to match right away. Thanks again for your review, and best of luck in your current endeavors!
