Pros

Good pay, & great safety culture.

Cons

Company (Aurora, NC location), is understaffed ever since the 2 layoffs. Now since Corona it's hard to find good help. Company is struggling at keeping experienced workers. Overtime is brutal, unable to really plan anything on your days off unless you use vacation. Operators being forced up into new roles when they aren't ready due to personnel turnover rate.

Pros

Good benefits; some of the people

Cons

Company fostered a culture of bullies and ridiculous business practices. I was not allowed to email anyone with a higher title (Sr Manager, Director, etc) than myself without including my micromanager of a boss. I couldn't talk directly to the Occ Health Nurses in the field. I couldn't foster change for the front line employees because of the bureaucratic nonsense. I never felt truly valued in my role. The annual reviews that I gave my team were overridden, resulting in each of them getting less than they deserved for a raise. The legacy employees seem to be happy there for the most part. But for someone coming in from the outside, it was super difficult to develop relationships and work toward strategic goals without being stopped every step of the way.

Pros

Generally flexible work schedule Bonus structure can be lucrative Good insurance options Many interesting people to work with Compensation is OK for junior devs

Cons

Depending on the team you're on, you might be working with code written by a revolving door of consultants that didn't know what they were doing Depending on the team, there can be lots of fires to put out Arbitrary personnel changes Some management-level decisions that might sound good to stakeholders get tossed out after months, leading to lots of wasted work The software organization was crammed into a 100 year old company that doesn't understand how to release software or treat developers Compensation is not great for mid-level or senior devs
